I would like to meet Jesus, and see how he measures up. I dont think i would be dissapointed, even with out the miracles. Its such a shame his meassage of love, forgiveness and tolerance has been so badly missrepresented.

Do you like the people in the Bible?
by Dis-Member inthe society always speaks about all the wonderful people and characters in the bible.. they always too speak of many of them as being so humble, faithful, loyal, diligent, loving, kind, wise, merciful etc, and worthy of imitation.
also of how god blessed them followed by endless examples and reasons why we today should imitate them.. .
they also speak of how wonderful it would be to meet some of these people in the future 'new system' and have often depicted scenes where the the survivors of armageddon would be gathered around some ancient resurrected faithful asking them questions and listening to their stories of times past.

Have you had a crisis of concience?
by new hope and happiness inmy little boy has decided he wants to be a vegetarian and has been for over a year now.
i fully accepted and supported this.. my view however is no matter what you eat or how you eat it ....beings will die for you to eat.. i have noticed where we live we have the terms " free range" and " ecological".
if affordable i am sure most peoples preferrd option for their own health and the conditions of the animals.. i would say everyone has the right to eat what they want within reason.

I would say everyone has the right to eat what they want within reason. We had an international food market in town las week and the Australian stand was selling crocodile and kangaroo. Certain cultures eat Dogs and Monkies. ( who am i to judge?)
I mean personally i dont like the way many animals are treated prior to being killed and yes i am having a crisis of conceience when i eat certan foods.
Have your eating habits been effected by concience?
Any thoughts about food and our non humun friends?

The org should stump up for Ashya King's treatment
by Mickey mouse inall the jws on my facebook news feed are defending the family vigorously and rightly so imo.
if the watchtower had any sense they would step up and offer to pay for ashya's treatment.
that would do far more for their profile than their website publicity campaign.

What is the best advise you have ever been given?
by new hope and happiness inawhile a go i was uptight about a matter i can't remember now and my friend said to me " give the other side the victory".
a while ago my little boy was getting uptight and argumentative with his mum i asked him " to let it go" in effect i suppose " giving the other side the victory".
anyway i am sure our life exsperiences have allowed us both receive and give good advice.

A question for Athiests.
by new hope and happiness ini am now an athiest myself, but i think being an athiest its a bit like having a faith.
some get very hooked on it and "preash" others (like me) simply get with with there lifes.
i am sure that some athiests like to have discussions about the non existence of " god" in a similar way that "thisists" do about the existence of god.

My thinking is, if you are being true to yourself good luck and may the force go with you. I think i learnt that thinking because i dont want to be like J.Ws who ignore me because i followed my conceience.

Is it a right or is it right?
by likeabird inin light of the recent posts about the little boy taken out of hospital in southampton by his parents and is now somewhere between france and spain, i started reading up some of the newspaper article links posted.
i was especially interested by the comments posted.. note my surprise, and yes horror, to see a large number of people supporting the parents decision.
how the parents are fully in their rights to do such a thing, going as far as to imply they 'own' their child, so they can do what they want.. i know this is a very sensitive subject and i'm probably opening a can of worms, but i think it needs saying.

I would like to characterize the attitude of " daily mail"reader comments towards these parents, and in general it seems very favourble of there actions.
I raise the above point because our thinking is often dictated by the media, but in this case the origional " Daily Mail" headline suggested negativity to the parents and i was surprised both that my self and readers in general saw past the sensational headlines and applied more rational and independent thinking.
Anyway i can understand how if told my child had a terminal illness my thinking could be irrational. Optimism is incurable and it seems the authorities did not have absolute legal power to prevent the parents actions? if so i dont understand why they have been arrested.
Under similar circumstances i think i would have done what these parents did ( if i had the courage) Blood of my blood, bone of my bone, seeing that child suffer and holding that hand and looking in to those eyes...heartbreaking ...i could never judge the parents.
